TOUS CES PUTAINS DE PAPILL0NS
"Tous ces putains de papillons" is a music video directed for the French rapper Leen, a single from his album B0NER.
For this project, I did not have control of the camera and therefore had to do the best possible editing in the director's aesthetic, knowing that the original rushes were not very well shot.
My work on the project
First, by logging the footage in Premiere Pro, I created a raw version without any retouching. Then, I spent several hours in After Effects rotoscoping the entire body of the artist in each shot to allow for greater creative freedom with the background and the effects used.
After isolating all the shots, I used Unity to create numerous dynamic scene shots where the camera moves in all directions to emphasize the intensity of the background sound. This also allowed me more creative possibilities. Next, I created a 3D model of the singer using Fuze and imported it into Mixamo to quickly rig it and create effective animations that blend the real and virtual aspects.
Finally, I experimented extensively with Premiere Pro and After Effects to keep the viewer constantly surprised while watching the video. Each shot uses layers and filters to highlight the precise moment in the sound. At the very end, I did a very quick color grading and mix to fully embrace the raw, pixelated look of the track.
